Service portfolio

Seven connected service lines

Commissioned singly, or combined into a multi-year programme of support. Sector teams are assembled per assignment from our senior specialists and associate pool.

Service 01

Research, assessments and surveys

Baselines, endlines, needs assessments and population surveys, including MHPSS and psychosocial assessments, with transparent sampling.

We design the sample so it can be defended, document how it was drawn, and report what it does and does not represent. Where populations are dispersed or hard to reach, we build the access plan into the design rather than treating it as a fieldwork problem to solve later.

  • Baseline and endline measurement
  • Household and population surveys
  • Rapid and comprehensive needs assessments
  • MHPSS and psychosocial assessments
  • Community score cards and participatory instruments
  • Instrument development, translation and pilot testing
  • Enumerator recruitment and training in local languages

Service 02

Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning

MEAL systems, indicator frameworks and independent evaluations.

Independent evaluation is only useful if it is genuinely independent and genuinely usable. We keep analysis separate from delivery, test findings against the data with a second specialist, and write recommendations that name who should act and on what.

Where we have also implemented, we say so plainly in the report rather than leaving the reader to discover it.

What this covers
  • Mid-term reviews and final evaluations
  • Third-party monitoring and verification
  • MEAL system design and indicator frameworks
  • Theory of change development and review
  • Accountability and feedback mechanisms
  • Learning reviews and after-action reviews

Service 03

Programme and project management

Support across the cycle, from design and inception to delivery and close-out.

We take on interim project leadership, embed alongside your team, and hand over with the audit trail, process documentation and coaching needed for your own people to sustain it.

  • Project design and inception support
  • Interim and third-party project leadership
  • Project office setup and operation
  • Portfolio governance and reporting
  • Structured knowledge transfer and close-out
Service 04

Humanitarian and development advisory

Technical advice on response, targeting, recovery and transition.

Advice grounded in field experience in displacement and disaster contexts, where targeting decisions are contested, data is incomplete, and the timeline does not wait for a perfect study. Mental health and protection needs are treated as part of that picture rather than a separate workstream.

  • Response and recovery strategy
  • Targeting and prioritisation methodology
  • MHPSS and protection considerations in response design
  • Transition and exit planning
  • Proposal development and donor engagement
  • Technical review of programme design
Service 05

Institutional strengthening

Capacity assessments and improvement plans for systems and governance.

We assess how an organisation actually works, not how the manual says it works, and produce an improvement plan sequenced against what the institution can absorb.

  • Organisational capacity assessment
  • Systems, policy and governance review
  • Strategic planning facilitation
  • Organisation setup and start-up support
  • Accountability and oversight mechanisms
Service 06

Capacity development and training

Training and coaching for project teams in the language they actually work in.

Blended and simulation-based learning with recognised certification pathways, delivered in the language the team actually works in.

  • Project management training and certification pathways
  • Results-based planning and data systems
  • Leadership, communication and team effectiveness
  • Simulation-based workshops and case exercises
  • Coaching and mentoring for project teams

Service 07

Data, digital and AI solutions

Dashboards, management information systems, websites and AI-assisted analysis.

Digital-first data collection, structured analysis and live dashboards that turn monitoring into adaptive management.

Where automated analysis is used, review stays with our specialists. Accountability for findings sits with people, not tooling.

Dashboards and data systems

Digital-first capture with validation, and live reporting that keeps everyone on one page.

Management information systems

Programme, beneficiary and institutional MIS built around how you actually work.

Websites and digital presence

Multilingual, low-bandwidth sites for organisations that need to be found and trusted.

AI-assisted analysis

Synthesis and quality checking accelerated by AI, with human-in-the-loop review throughout.

Engagement

What a typical assignment involves

How do assignments usually start?

Three ways. You have terms of reference and we respond with design, team, timeline and price. Or you know the decision you face but not the method, and we scope options and propose a proportionate approach. Or you need a technical partner or local delivery capability for a bid or framework.

Can service lines be combined?

Yes. That is the normal case. A baseline often runs alongside MEAL system design; an evaluation frequently leads into institutional strengthening or training. Commissioning them together avoids paying twice for the same inception work.

Who actually does the work?

Sector teams are assembled per assignment from our senior specialists and associate pool. The specialists who design the instruments analyse the data and present the findings. The work is not handed down a chain.

What languages can you deliver in?

English, Arabic, French, German, Swahili (Kenya, Somalia), Chichewa (Malawi), Urdu and Pashto (Pakistan, Afghanistan), plus other regional languages through locally recruited enumerators, across fieldwork, enumeration, training and reporting. Enumerators are recruited and trained locally, including female enumerators for women-centred research.

How do you handle data protection and consent?

Documented protocols for informed consent, safeguarding and data protection apply on every assignment. Instruments are reviewed and signed off with the client before enumeration begins.

Tell us the decision you face

If you have terms of reference, we will respond with design, team, timeline and price. If you do not yet, we will help scope the question.
